Star Wars Spin-Off Film Has Just Released Its Final Trailer!

With the final trailer revealed, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story still proves to be one of the most anticipated movies later this year.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” has been cloaked in secrecy for so long, that it’s a bit of a shock to see that the new trailer for the movie is full of plot detail. More than the previous trailers, this one combines the gritty wartime story unique to Rogue One with elements familiar to Star Wars fans (a child with absent parents fighting evil, for starters). Let's break down the key moments for a closer look.

In the combat-packed, two-and-a-half-minute clip, we learn that Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) has been drafted into the Rebel cause partly because her long-missing father, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), was needed to help build the Death Star, a turn-of-events that will no doubt force Jyn to spend thousands of credits on therapy. The rest of the teaser delivers plenty of action, with X-wings tearing across the sky, AT-ATs stomping on the beach, and a briefly glimpsed Darth Vader, who, as usual, appears to be marching while miffed.

The latest trailer comes a day after Disney released a poster featuring the entire main cast was unveiled by Edwards, who appeared on “The Star Wars Show” to discuss the film. The poster also feature Imperial forces on the tropical island of Scarif, which will be featured prominently in the new film.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is going to the story where it bridges Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars IV A New Hope. As most fans would remember, Star Wars IV showed Princess Leia being taken by Darth Vader looking for plans of a weapon that is capable of destroying planets. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story covers how the plans were taken from the Empire. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film also stars Donnie Yen, Diego Luna, Jian Wen, Forest Whitaker, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen and Ben Mendelsohn.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits UK theatres 16 December.
